One of the noteworthy stories in dry bulk last week was Bloomberg’s news on Brazil starting to import Soybeans from the US Gulf, as Brazil has lowered import tariffs in order to bridge a domestic shortage.
The article mentioned that “at least one cargo” of soybeans was sold to Brazil. We took a look at our data to identify this vessel. The answer that the Oceanbolt Data Platform came up with is the vessel named Genco Mare (imo: 9450765). This vessel is currently underway to Rio Grande, Brazil, with 33k tons of soybeans loaded at Associated Terminals’ Myrtle Grove Midstream Terminal, on the Mississippi River. The vessel is due to arrive in Rio Grande on the 12th of November.
The analysis above was done using our Vessel Tracking tool, which gives a complete voyage and port call history of every dry bulk vessel and further allows you to segment vessels based on destinations for their cargo.
